Ever since I was elected as one of your two Borough Councillors I have attempted to promote ‘open and honest’ government. Needless to say, this approach has often brought me into conflict with those who still believe the public’s role ends the day after the election.

Ten Years After

In 1994, after a period of ‘consultation’ tenants of Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council voted by a narrow margin to support the setting up of two Large Scale Voluntary Transfer Housing Associations. These were to be set up specifically to take over the management of their homes.
