Chineham Railway Station Single Issue Panel

Development Control

Role : Vice Chairman

Considers Planning Applications and Development Control and Enforcement matters. Also deals with extinguishment of public rights of way, stopping up or diversion of footpaths, protection of important hedgerows and preservation of trees.

Environment Overview

Any matter which impacts on the environmental well-being of the Borough of Basingstoke and Deane, its inhabitants or environs including the service areas, topics and policies covered by the Planning & Transport Portfolio.

International Forum

2.1 New international partnerships complementing our existing twinning links are explored to respond more efficiently to the current objectives for the borough. 2.2 The Twinning Panel is replaced by an International Forum which would include relevant representatives from the voluntary, educational, business and cultural sectors. 2.3 The Civic function is re-focused so that civic links generate tangible benefits and outcomes for this authority by offering development and learning opportunities for those involved.

    Sustainable Communities Overview

    Any matter which impacts on the social well-being of the Borough of Basingstoke & Deane, its inhabitants or environs including the service areas, topics and policies covered by the Housing & Regeneration and Environment & Community Services Portfolios.

    Tree Shading Single Issue Panel

    To provide a mechanism to enable decisions made by officers (over a request to deal with a shading issue) to either be confirmed or amended by the Panel.

      Twinning Panel

      Replaced by International Forum at Economic & Community Development on 04/03/08

      Viewing Panel

      Role : Vice Chairman

      To enable the Members of Development Control Committee to view sites the subject of Planning Applications so that they can make informed decisions.

      Waste Management and Recycling Monitoring

      to monitor on a regular basis:- (a) the consultation programme; and (b) the education programme.
