I have represented the ward since May 2002 following the retirement of Lynden Jones.

I was born and bred in Basingstoke and spent most of my youth in the ward. My children attended Cranbourne School and, until ward boundary changes, I lived in the ward for many years - my home is the house I was born in - I came back to my roots after travelling and living overseas.
I emigrated to Australia in 1967, together with my young family, returning to Basingtoke in 1971. In 1981 I went to the Middle East, working and living in Sharjah (U.A.E.) and Kuwait. Then in 1988 I moved to Spain where we owned and ran an 'Olde English Country Pub'! I returned to Basingstoke in 1993.
I have four grandchildren, two of whom live in Paris (my daughter met her French husband whilst working in Kuwait), and my son and his family reside in Bramley.
I am proud to have been elected to represent the ward on our Local Council in my home town, a town which I love. No matter how many times I lived elsewhere, this town is my past, my present and my future. I will always do my best to represent both the residents of my ward and the borough as a whole.
