Welcome to my website my name is Jane Frankum and I am your Popley West Councillor and County Councillor for Basingstoke North which covers all of Popley and most of Norden (Oakridge).
I was first elected in 1998 when Popley was all one ward but in 2002 the Boundary Commission split Popley into 2 wards and called them Popley West and Popley East. However as I have lived in Popley (Abbey Road) for 34 years I still think of the area as all one ward. That’s why I am the Borough Councillor for Popley West.
I am the Vice Chair of the Community Overview Committe, Chair of Crime and Disorder Panel and a member on Community Engagement, Healthy Communities and on Development Control which deals with Planning Applications.
In my roll as a County Councillor I represent Norden and all of Popley. I am the Labour Party spokesperson for Education for Hampshire. I serve on the Education Committee, Social Services, Family Placement Panel and HOIRST (which is a panel that gives grants to help the children who have been either in or have left foster care with their further education or vocational costs that will lead to their employment.
